Some of these culinary places are only open in the morning, or sometimes during the day, and some are only open at night, but the visitors always fill the place. Don’t worry, your diet can start tomorrow, prepare your empty tummy.
I will try to tell a little about some of the unique Javanesse culinary, which is located not so far from the city of Jakarta, let’s continue our journey 🙂
Many of our foreign tourists are made to fall in love with the unique and delicious taste of this Sate Maranggi, there is even a unique story about the delicacy of this satay in the eyes of the world, once upon a time our President of the Republic of Indonesia Mr. Joko Widodo who was visiting South Korea deliberately introduced special dishes West Java in front of CEOs in South Korea, this maranggi satay is served as a lunch menu with CEOs from South Korea, and CEOs from South Korea are very happy and really enjoy this maranggi satay.
Besides that, Satay Maranggi also took part in the World Street Food Congress, Philippines, and became one of CNN’s eight favorite street food vendors in the world.
The specialty of Maranggi Satay is worldwide. This satay has a very strong flavor because the marinade is used before the satay is burned. So that it does not need to be supported with peanut sauce as a splash.
Maranggi Satay in Warung Sari Asih Cianjur is indeed very delicious, especially if the satay has been served with rice that is still hot. With a special sprinkling of sambal namely, Oncom sambal, and can also be enjoyed with the addition of cayenne pepper. And this satay can also be enjoyed with grilled sticky rice. Intrigued by the taste? Come to Cianjur, and feel the pleasure of Maranggi Satay.
ALAM SUNDA SAMBEL DOWER
The culinary archipelago has their respective charms. One that you must try is Sundanese cuisine. This tribe which occupies the western part of the island of Java has authentic, delicious culinary delicacies that will surely make you tempted.
The most distinctive feature of this restaurant is the “sambal” (traditional chilli/red and green chillli) Indonesian people usually call it “mantaaaaap”.
plus a typical Sundanese menu complete with fresh vegetables and also “Kremesan” fried flour from fried side dishes is very delicious !!, One of my favourite is the beef lung.
This afternoon after we did some city tour activities, we wanted to experience street food culinary in the middle of Jakarta, then we decided to stop by Martabakku Menteng outlets in Menteng area. Although I know that Martabakku Menteng already has several branches in Jakarta, at that time only outlets in Menteng Wok Street Food provided the first gelato martabak in Jakarta.
The place looks like a small foodcourt area filled with several food outlets. The interior of the place is brightly colored. Because it is located right on the edge of the road, the atmosphere in this place is quite noisy. But if you want to find peace and quite, you can choose to sit in the indoor area.
Martabak here has various types of sweet and savory martabak, and it doesn’t take long for us to determine what order we want. Marsap or Martabak Egg Beef with the addition of mozzarella cheese which is very tempting is our choice. Because there are many buyers, according to the waiter we need to wait for the martabak that is in high demand for about 1 hour.
bakku Dragon’s Breath which uses gelato. But specifically for martabak gelato can only be used for dine in.
Of the 4 variants (pandanus, coffee, taro and red velvet), our choice fell on the Red Velvet Oreo Martabak which was combined with Cream Cheese Gelato. We are very lucky because this martabak can be made immediately without having to wait long.
Watching the making of cream cheese gelato for the contents of Martabak became my own entertainment while waiting for the completion of the making, the buyer could see firsthand the manufacturing process because the place was open and not so big and close to the bench in the dining area.
Here there is a large nitrogen tube for making gelato. With agility, a Martabakku Menteng employee put liquid cream cheese into the mixer then shaken, liquid nitrogen and then smoke and check it to be added to it.
Then the frozen gelato cream was moved to a large round container. Then the cream is stirred with two special spoons while adding the nitrogen until the cream is dry like a gelato texture.
After you read my article, I’m sure you will be interested in trying out this new innovation of Martabak Gelato and Martabak Mozzarella !!
MIE RICA KEJAKSAAN
With all the delicious food, hunting for food in Bandung is always fun!. Going to Bandung, you might be wondering what and where to eat!
We cannot stop thinking about what to eat in Bandung, besides all the new and hip places, the humble local food has its own charm that we cannot resist so we decided to start our day by having breakfast at Mie Rica Kejaksaan.
As the name suggests, the eatery serves only noodle dishes along with a few side dishes, as for the noodle there are 5 main categories, Ca Ciang, Casao Spicy, Deep Fried Shrimp Spicy, and Chicken noodle with choices of additional items such as meat ball, wonton, etc
GOAT SATAY HANJAWAR STALLS
Enjoy lunch at Hanjawar Goat Satay.
The trip to Puncak Bogor today with www.javaprivatetour.com seems incomplete if it does not stop by to enjoy its culinary satay in accordance with the cool nature of the peak. That’s right today we stopped by the Sate Kambing Hanjawar Warung which is certainly a specialist of goat satay, but don’t worry for those of you who don’t eat goat satay, because at Warung Sate Hanjawar it also provides chicken satay, goat soup, tongseng, and other food menus.
This Warung Sate Hanjawar place is very simple but quite comfortable, the stalls are always crowded. If the place to eat in front is full, there is still a place to eat behind the stalls with a terrace atmosphere. The mainstay of the menu is goat satay, chicken satay and goat soup.
For the choice of goat satay meat using pieces of meat and fat with a soft texture and also a very flavorful satay (not tasteless even without seasoning), because when burned, satay is dipped in special spices first.
For goat satay seasoning using sweet soy sauce mixed with small pieces of green chillies, chunks of fresh tomatoes, shallots, and lime that are dripped on goat satay can be a fresh flavor enhancer.
Likewise with the chicken satay, the texture of the meat is very tender and the taste is also delicious mixed with peanut sauce which is not too thick but very tasty!
The following is the most interesting part! That is, when we tried the goat soup, the meat was very tender, had no smell of goat, and the fresh gravy with a little spicy pepper was very suitable with the cold weather today, especially if you ordered Goat Tongseng, the meat was quite a lot could be for 2 people.
SUMBER HIDANGAN (het snoephuis) Braga Weg
Since the beginning i founded the Java Private Tour and often traveled for culinary hunting and until finally I got to know “Sumber Hidangan”, i was amazed by this place, what kind of restaurant can survive from 1929, namely the era where President Soekarno had not been president, well I will start telling you all!
Braga Street, is one of the old city areas in Bandung that holds memories in the form of culinary bread, legendary bread from ancient times. the name of this bakery is “sumber hidangan”. In the past, at the beginning of the store was opened by the name “Het Snoephuis” which means “sweet house”.
The bakery, which was founded in 1929, still maintains the authenticity of the buildings and interior of the old Dutch architectural style.
What makes this shop unique and unique so that it lasts for decades is because of the low price, and the manufacture of bread that does not use chemicals and drugs to soften bread, this shop still sells various types of breads and pastries with ancient recipes made from natural, and still use the designation in Dutch for each naming of the cake, as krentebrood (raisin bread),suiker hagelslag, likeur bonbon, kattetong, eierkoekjes and spoonsbeschuit. Designations for names and types of cakes are still written in handwriting which is only affixed with sticker paper on each tray made of zinc as a form of simplicity.
With one of the crew from www.javaprivatetour.com there is no visit to Bogor West Java that is complete without a local street food tour.
Pecel Lele (Fried Catfish), Uduk Rice (Coconut Milk Rice) with traditional Sambal (chili) and boiled vegetables add to your sensation to get to know a very unique Javanese culture.
Catfish Pecel is a side dish consisting of Crispy Fried Catfish, served together with a spicy sauce and raw vegetables salad and also of course with Shrimp Rice (Coconut milk Rice). But one thing and certainly I guarantee, this is a very delicious dish that you want to enjoy again and again.
SOTO SEDAAP BOYOLALI
I will try to tell a little about some unique Javanese culinary, located in Bandung West Java, let’s continue our food journey!
The position of this place is not far from the junction between Jalan Diponegoro and Jalan Maulana Yusuf, the name is Soto Sedaap Boyolali.
Every morning this place is always crowded, soto chicken in thick gravy containing rice, chunks of vegetables, bean sprouts and tomatoes and another that adds to the sensation more savory and delicious and healthy from this soto is a piece of chicken meat that comes from organic chicken.
There are several other complementary side dishes that are served separately to enjoy this soto dish, namely fried tempe with flour, perkedel or (bacem) tempe, and various satay, like quail egg satay, Then there is beef cingur satay which is a piece of beef nose which is satay with sweet and sour taste and the satay satay is boiled with various traditional spices of the island of Java (bacem).
Then there is the cow lung satay, beef brain satay and beef liver satay, but for beef brain beef and beef liver before being satayed the brain and beef liver is fried by wrapping it with eggs, so this egg will cover the brain and liver of the cow which is then pierced with a skewer made of bamboo.
So even though the portion of Soto is a little but surely you will feel very full, because apparently there are additional side dishes to enjoy this Soto.
NICOLE’S KITCHEN AND LOUNGE
If you want to find a place that is cozy, quite, the natural scenery can cure your boredom, but its location is not far from the city of Jakarta and Bogor, West Java, whether it is a weekday or weekend, or a holiday, precisely located near the plantation tea in the peak area of Cianjur, West Java, there is a place that can be a recommendation for you, namely Nicole’s Kitchen And Lounge, this is a very suitable place and www.javaprivatetour.com highly recommends it.
Nicole’s Kitchen & Lounge was established in 2013, is in the same location as Kampung Brasco Factory Outlet, but if you want to go to Nichole’s Kitchen And Lounge you can go up to floors 3,4 and 5, on each floor the air flow is very good, without the Air Conditioner but you will feel very cool, and on the balcony terrace is available a “lazy sofa” for you to enjoy the natural scenery of the Cianjur and Bogor peak areas, as well as the volcanic peak of Gede Pangrango, very exotic isn’t it!
This place is very unique because the sofa has white nuance combined with bright colors like orange, yellow, green, and red, surely your mood will be more radiant when you visit this place.
If we talk about the menu that is served in this place is very diverse, ranging from traditional Indonesian specialties, Asian culinary menus to western-style menus available here, including pottato ball, nachos, fish and chips, mix fried platter, Chicken Katsu Kari Udon Rice, Grilled Beef Ribs Soup, Australian Sirlion Steak, Chicken Cordon Blue, Black Pepper Beef Rice, Shabu Shabu.
Because the cold mountain air makes my stomach very hungry, when I visited this place I ordered some of my favorite foods that you might be familiar enough to know, such as fried rice, serving fried rice here is very studded with quite a lot of meat in my opinion, and the taste is very delicious with a sweet and savory blend, chicken and goat satay, the meat is quite tender and the flavor of the traditional spices is very pervasive in every bite, then about the steak, in my opinion is very perfect and the carbonara is very soft, the mayonnaise melts in every bite in each bite in plus very large portions, then Gurame fish with mango sauce, extraordinarily spicy and very fresh the combination of mango and Indonesian traditional sambal, the fish is very fresh, and the contours of the fish meat are very soft, the combustion process is very perfect, the traditional spices seep to the part of the fish bone.
When we talking about taste, based on reviews from foreign guests who www.javaprivatetour.com always bring it to this place, they are very satisfied with the delicacy of every dish served by Nicole’s kitchen and lounge, especially its very large., clean, the service is extraordinarily friendly, and the style of serving food here looks very luxurious, but when talking about the price is not as expensive as seen from the way it is presented, the price of food and drinks here only ranges from Rp.10,000 to Rp.200,000 (Indonesian currency).
Overall, Nicoles Kitchen And Lounge really steals the hearts of anyone who visits this place, culinary tours, photography, natural scenery you can get in one place here!
WARTEG (WARUNG TEGAL) / LOCAL STALLS
Warteg (Warung Tegal) has become an easy alternative to find for those of you who are hungry and want to eat a large portion, you don’t need to pay a high price to fill your stomach, this is a condition that is inversely different if you buy food at the mall, or fancy restaurants that are very expensive.
“WARTEG” has become a general term for roadside food stalls. “Warung Tegal” or also commonly called (WARTEG) you can meet as far as your eyes can see in all regions of Indonesia, This is one type of gastronomic business that provides food and drinks with very affordable prices.
Warteg’s origins were initially managed by people from two villages, namely the residents of Sidapurna and Sidakaton villages in Tegal Regency, Central Java Province, Dukuhturi District, Tegal and Krandon Districts. They manage Warteg alternately, (between families in one family bond) every 3 to 4 months. Those who do not have the turn to manage Warteg will usually return to farming and managing plantations or ranches in their home town. The manager and owner of the Warteg in Jakarta, who is a native of Tegal, usually joins the Warung Tegal Cooperative, which is popular with the abbreviation KOWARTEG.
The dishes and menus at Warteg are very simple and do not require very complete kitchen equipment. Tempe (fermented fried soy beans), Vegetable Soup, Omelet, Saute Kale are almost always found, as are snacks such as fried bananas, drinks like coffee, tea, and some soft drinks. Some Tegal Stalls (Warteg) specialize in serving several types of food, such as Sate Tegal (Young Goat Satay), Goulash and typical Tegal Beverage (Teh Poci).
The current number of Warteg recorded by KOWARTEG (Warteg Cooperative Association) is more than 35,000 stalls in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi. Asmawi, who is an Adviser to the Warteg Cooperative Association, explained that Warteg is now also already abroad (Korea, Netherlands and Germany).
For example ‘Nusantara Halal Restaurant’, in Berlin, the owner named Bram Fernandin, he is a former badminton player from the badminton club Djarum Kudus who opened the Warteg named Bram Fernandin has introduced Indonesian cuisine to the people of Berlin, with an average price of food priced at 5.9 euros or if converted to Rupiah equivalent to Rp 88,000, what is unique is that the servants recruited by Bram Fernandin in his Warteg are originally from Tegal. So, the taste of the food is guaranteed not to be mixed with typical flavors of other regions, you can find this Warteg at Turn Str 18, 10559, Berlin.
